The JAMES S6 emergency watch helps those with mild dementia thanks to its professional anti-wandering feature.

Maria is 93 and very proud to still be living in her flat in Vienna. Recently, however, the sprightly elderly lady has begun to show signs of dementia and, given her advanced age, has started to forget her way around. This has already led to a dangerous situation, as Maria went out alone and was subsequently unable to find her way back to her flat.

A frantic search for the elderly woman continued late into the night – eventually even involving a helicopter. Maria was finally found in the early hours of the morning, suffering from severe hypothermia and dehydration.

Her worried grandson Gerhard is determined to do everything in his power to prevent such nightmare scenarios from happening in future. However, Gerhard works full-time and is therefore unable to look after Maria properly. As a result, Maria has recently been receiving support from Anna, a 24/7 carer. But Anna also needs to go shopping now and then or take some time for herself. However, because of Maria’s dementia and frailty, Anna is reluctant to leave her alone. What if she falls or wanders off again?

To put the family’s mind at rest and ensure Anna can enjoy her short outings without worry, Gerhard gave his grandmother the JAMES S6 emergency watch. Gerhard’s family is already supported by JAMES and has enjoyed greater peace of mind and freedom ever since. Maria’s new emergency watch protects her with a reliable anti-wandering feature, including a designated movement zone. If she leaves the zone, the watch triggers an automatic alarm and contacts both her grandson Gerhard and her carer Anna. Should Maria actually wander off again, Gerhard and Anna can view her location in the JAMES app at any time and intervene accordingly.

However, this modern smartwatch protects Maria not only when she is out and about, but also within her own home. Should Maria feel dizzy, fall over or find herself in any other emergency situation, help is just a button press away. Double safety: if Maria is no longer able to press the button, the watch will also send out an automatic alert. Thanks to its built-in fall detection, JAMES detects unusual periods of inactivity and sends an automatic SOS to Maria’s relatives and carers.

With JAMES, Maria is fully protected and her relatives and carers have peace of mind. She also really likes the stylish watch.
